Christmas 2010

We had a WONDERFUL christmas this year!!!  The festivities began last Saturday the 18th at my Aunt Joan's house in Winston Salem!  This is our annual tradition on my Father's Side and we really enjoyed spending time with extended family this year.  In past years, this tradition was held at my Grandmothers house on Christmas day, however, in recent years her health has declined and has been unable to host it.  This year was a special year to be together because my Grandmother passed away just before christmas on Dec. 7th.  She had had a few strokes and a battle with Alzheimers so her time had come to return home to Heavenly Father!!  She will be missed especially during this time of year when she really brought the family together.  Until we meet again, Nanny!!

We then went on to celebrate with My Brother and his family at their house in Rock Hill, SC with My Dad, Kelsey and Abbey on the 22nd.  My Mom, Esther and Woodson were supposed to come to but Esther came down with the Flu :(  This year we decided to draw names on both mine and Joey's side and we made a fun little game of it.  I think it turned out good, maybe room for tweaking :)  It was fun playing secret Santa and not knowing who got who until the presents were exhanged!!

On Christmas Eve we had lunch at my Dad's house and then went to a Matinee to see "Little Fockers!"  Pretty funny, however, not really about the kids!  That night we went over to Joey's parents house and opened stockings from them (aka the tradtional Jammies)  I LOVE this tradition, it's so fun getting new Jammies every year to bum around in on Christmas morning!!  JJ really got into Christmas this year and I so enjoyed watching him light up with excitment for all of the festivities!!!

Christmas Morning we invited the parents over to our house for Breakfast and to watch JJ open presents from Santa!!  We are so blessed to have family live closeby.  They help us with so much and I love that My son can have a close relationship with all of his Grandparents, cousins and Aunts & Uncles!!  I have to say JJ really made out like a bandit... he does not need ANYTHING anytime soon!!  ( Santa must have hit up the Black Friday sale at Target!!! hahahahahaha)  Later on in the day we headed over to Joey's parents house to open more gifts from them and have Christmas Dinner!  We wrapped up the evening by going to another movie, which was picked by the Men.... "True Grit!"  It was.... interesting and I am thankful for the comedic twist, otherwise I would have been bored to tears!!!!  :)

It's hard to believe another Christmas has come and gone, but we still have mine and Joey's 5th year anniversary to celebrate, New Years and My 27th birthday on the 1st!!!  It's been a busy month and I have enjoyed every minute of it!!  I worked a ton of holiday hours at the MAC counter and Joey got a promotion of VP for his title and role and Bank of America!!!  JJ is thriving in preschool and just getting cuter and cuter each day!!  Life is good and I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father for the many blessings that we have received.  My goal for the new year is to be more christlike and make improvements where needed in my personal life!!  We hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas & a very Happy New Year!!!!
