JJ has about 5 teeth now, so I figured it was about to time to starting brushing on the regular. I had bought him a toothbrush before that he loved to carry around and play with. So, I had to buy him a new one that stays in the bathroom for brushing only!! It's actually pretty cool, it has a light up timer that blinks for 1 minute (I guess that is how long you are supposed to brush, feels like an eternity) . Anyway, I think he likes our new activity. Excuse the disheveled pic, he can't look picture perfect all the time right??? LOL! 
The party we went to on Saturday was a Mickey Mouse theme. All the kids got these cute hats! It was a lot of fun!!Saturday we went to a swim birthday party for one of JJ's friends. They had some great little kiddie pools and slide set up. The kids had a blast!! JJ just really loves the water and has really enjoyed all of the swimming we have been doing during these hot summer days!!

BTW- I thought this was an awesome way to do a shower, it included the groom and was really fun!! We had a great time, we just wish they lived closer so we could get together more often!! Last weekend Joey's phone rang to a distressed Grandma that needed rescuing due to the fact that her car would not start!! She had just finished seeing a movie and as was trying to leave, found a lifeless car waiting for her in parking lot. So, we came to her rescue along with Paul Blart (from the movie) Hahaha, seriously this guy was hillarious. The cop just happened to drive up at the moment we were getting the car ready to attempt to bring it back to life! He took his duties very seriously and even turned on his sirene to clear the road and zoomed by in front of the car assuming the position of assistance. Now I need to mention that this guy was a little on the chubby side, ok that is an understatement....... If you have ever seen Paul Blart-Mall Cop then just think of his size for a mental picture. He had a little trouble getting out of his cop car but then he was all business attempting to revive the car. Ahhh, but to no avail it was completely DEAD!! His expert reccomendation was to pour some COCA-COLA on it!! (ok???) Anyway, the end result was to just roll it back into a space and wait for a new battery!

JJ has loved his first experiences with the water!!! Although he was here last summer he was much to small to enjoy any pool time! So, this year we are enjoying spending some quality time with our munchkin at Grandma and Grandpa's private pool!!! Forget crowded apartment pools!! I love these pics of him in the water, I wish I could have captured some of the action of him splashing around and laughing, it was the cutest.... I am a little biased though!!!! :)
So I got this Idea from a friends blog and thought it was a great one!! The premis is that every Wednesday you post a pic that doesn't require any description. The pic says it all!! Love it!! JJ is just a whole new child now that he is MOBILE!! It is never a dull day!! He is full of personality and loves to walk around the house looking for things to get into and explore. He has always loved the Dogs cage but up until now has never actually gotten the up the nerve to crawl in. He usually just stands at the door and plays with it while I am doing the laundry. That is apparently the old JJ because now that is one of his favorite places to play. He loves it in there, but I don't love how he gets covered in dog hair because of it! Oh well pick your battles right?? :)

We went to the mall on Saturday and he was being so squirmy wanting to get down and walk like a big boy. Well, I let him down for a second and it was so cute. He took off walking down the mall like he was just a regular shopper, huge grin and all.

C'mon dad let's go to Hollister!I'm talking about Motherhood! Is that Sarcasm you sense?? YES!! No seriously I love being a mom.... but today let me tell ya. I was doing my thing on the computer and JJ was playing right before naptime and I happened to notice something on his leg.... When I went in for a closer look it was........................POOP!!!! Ahhhh, just oozing down his leg, on his foot and onto the carpet! Lovely! These are the moments where I just want to run the other way, but this just so happened to be really the first time that something like this has happened so I better just get used to it right? I'm sure it won't be the last.. Anyway, he is going thru this phase right now where he really doesn't like to get his diaper changed so you can only imagined how that went. Him wiggling around me trying to dodge the poo, not a pretty sight! I then moved him to the bathroom to put him straight in the bath and as was filling up the tub HE PEED ALL OVER THE FLOOR!!!!! aHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point I just started laughing! I figured it was better than the alternative (crying) Hope my traumatic little story for the morning at the Monteleone household brings a smile to your face!!! It definitely did mine!!!
Kelsey just turned the big 18 and we went out to celebrate at her restaurant of choice, Nakato's (Yum!) We all had a blast and I'm pretty sure Kelsey was very pleased with her Birthday this year too. Here are a few pics of the evening!! Happy Birthday Kels, Love you!!
